Lauren grew up addicted to music. At age 2 she began the violin, and played until she was 17. In middle school she took up the clarinet and choir, and it was there she realized her passion for ensemble singing. In 2000, Lauren was recognized by then Governor George W. Bush for being the only student in the state to place on the state level in all three music contests: Band, Choir, and Orchestra.

Lauren attended St Olaf College, known for its commanding lead in the Choral Arts. There, she sang for the freshman women's ensemble, Manitou, under Sigrid Johnson. She sang for the Early Music Singers under Dr. Gerald Hoekstra for all four years, and sang under Dr. Anton Armstrong for two years in the world-renowned St Olaf Choir. She studied voice for four years with Margaret Eaves-Smith.

After college, Lauren quickly immersed herself in the rich choral culture of the Twin Cities. She began singing under Dr. Matthew Culloton in The Singers: Minnesota Choral Artists; under Dr. Dale Warland with both the SPCO Chorale &  the Minnesota Beethoven Festival Chorus; under Jordan Sramek with The Rose Ensemble; as well as local early music ensembles like Consortium Carissimi and The Gregorian Singers. Lauren held church positions with the Schola Cantorum of the Basilica of St Mary, under Teri Larson, as well as the Cathedral Choir at St Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, under Raymond Johnston.

Lauren has been lucky to explore new works and composers, workshop world premieres, record, tour internationally, and perform at Chicago's Ravinia Festival and multiple ACDA conventions. Lauren has collaborated with many different music organizations, not only through performance but through volunteering in any capacity needed. The two things guaranteed to always cheer her up are Jurassic Park and movement 2 of Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil. Currently, Lauren can be seen performing with Conspirare's Company of Voices & Symphonic Choir, as well as annually with the Minnesota Beethoven Festival. Lauren is excited to add the Tinsel Singers to that list, joining a brand new Christmas Caroling ensemble serving the Austin area.
